Genome Maintenance and Signaling Pathways of the Cell
GMSPC Seminar Series
Sponsored by: Stanley S. Scott Cancer Center/LSU Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine, New Orleans.
Location: 533 Bolivar Street, 4th floor, Stanley S. Scott Cancer Center Conference Room (# 459)
Time: Mondays 4:00 - 5:00pm
This research/journal club should complement LCRC seminar series and the other study groups, in order to nurture scientific interactions amongst the LCRC investigators. Research articles will be introduced and criticized to keep up with cutting-edge technology and to discuss relevance in our research. As this is an informal meeting, presenters can combine research articles and their own data, and explain a future research direction. Topics include (but not exclusively) genomic instability and cellular defense, or "genome maintenance" mechanisms, including DNA repair, cell cycle regulation and apoptosis, oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes, chromosomal rearrangement, telomere maintenance, and a plethora of signaling pathways involved in those cellular events.
